Family Medicine FAQ — California
What conditions does Connect2-wellness treat through family medicine?
Connect2-wellness provides primary care for a wide range of conditions including hypertension, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, hypothyroidism, asthma, GERD, obesity, depression, anxiety, and respiratory infections. Lora also provides preventive care, wellness exams, and lab review for patients across California.
Can an FNP prescribe medications via telehealth in California?
Yes. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in California, Lora Betron Campos, FNP-BC has full prescriptive authority and can prescribe medications, order labs, and make specialist referrals via telehealth. California law grants FNPs independent practice authority, meaning Lora can provide the full scope of primary care without physician oversight.
How are lab tests handled if I'm a telehealth patient?
Lora electronically orders labs to a Quest, LabCorp, or other local lab near you. You visit the lab at your convenience, and results are reviewed together during a follow-up telehealth visit or sent through the patient portal with a clinical summary. Lab locations are available throughout California.
Does Connect2-wellness accept insurance?
Please use the patient portal or contact the practice directly to verify current insurance participation. Connect2-wellness aims to make integrative family medicine accessible to patients in California, and works to accommodate a range of payment options for eligible patients.
What technology do I need for a telehealth family medicine appointment?
You need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. Most modern devices work without any special app downloads. Detailed instructions are sent with your appointment confirmation to make connecting as simple as possible for patients throughout California.
